You just gotta unclog the pipe. Are you dumb now? No. The water was sitting stagnant because you were busy doing other things (100% fine btw). If any 'dumb' got in the water then it will quickly leave once you let the water start flowing again. Go get all the stupid out into a doc that doesn't matter. Even several of them. It might take a good while, especially if you're returning to writing after years or after a period of intense burnout, or both (waves). But you're just rusty, and letting that stop you will only ensure you stay stuck! Go forth and write some nonsense!

you pour all the dumb on to the page and then later you come back with the pool filter net on a stick thing and scoop it gently out. it’s not a big problem to be dumb for awhile!

And you may just find that once the writing is flowing again, when you come back to something you’d left unwritten or unfinished and realize that that time off gave you the perspective and experience you need to make it go where you wanted to go.

I’m absolutely speechless. I could cry. I might cry. Wowowowowowowow. I cannot describe the emotions I’m feeling right now. This is fantastic. It’s so incredibly visual - frame by frame like a cinematic masterpiece. The emotions, the design, the action shots of Roach approaching and leaping and landing… peerless. It’s like you genuinely plucked it straight out of my brain the way I envisioned it when I wrote it. Thank you so much - it’s a gift I hadn’t expected but one that makes all the difference today 💚
Side note: I know I’ve disappeared. Life has been so difficult since I wrote Three Steps From The Sky and continues to be difficult. Spoonies forever 🥄 It was such a delight to come onto tumblr today and just happen upon this post randomly via a reblog (as I have not checked messages for a while due to f e a r). A delight I can’t quite put into words. Thank you for making my day @cheesynoodle22 and the rest of the Witcher family 🥰

ok hanging out on reddit is actually a great idea. someone said they didnt like henry cavill as geralt because witchers move "10x faster than a human", but cavill only moves at human speeds, and someone replied they were "fascinated by what actor they would suggest instead" given the limitation that all actors are human.
